Dublin Castle is a former castle and current Irish government complex and conference center. It's located in Dublin City Centre on Castle Street. The castle was built in the early 13th century on the site of a Viking settlement. Visit dublin, dublincastle.ie It was the seat of the English and later British government in Ireland for centuries.

In 1922, after Ireland's independence, the castle was handed over to the new Irish government. It now hosts the inauguration of each President of Ireland and various State receptions. The castle houses the State Apartments, the Chapel Royal, a 13th century Tower, and some Medieval structures. It was rebuilt in the 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries.
